Welcome to fbc
From Our Pastor
Thank you for checking out our website and considering whether FBC is a potential place for you to call home. Looking for a church these days can be stressful. Questions and uncertainty certainly abound. My hope is that through our website some of those questions can be answered, and some of the uncertainty and anxiety quelled. As you may have noticed when you arrived here, we are a church that is dedicated to exalting Christ alone, through Scripture alone, to the glory of God alone. Therefore, we seek to conform all matters of our life and doctrine according to that pattern.
I look forward to meeting you in person soon. - {Pastor Kyle Julius}

WHAT TO EXPECT
Our services are driven and guided by Scripture. In other words, we like to pray the Bible, read the Bible, sing the Bible, and preach from the Bible. This is why every service begins with a Psalm read aloud and corporate prayer. We then sing several songs, followed by additional Scripture reading, the sermon, and a scriptural benediction to end the service. The preaching at First Baptist Monroe is expositional, meaning, the point of the sermon will always derive from the point of the text. Our common practice is to preach through whole books of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments. Our services generally run an hour and a half, and we observe the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of every month.
Our music is carefully considered by the pastoral team to ensure what we are singing is theologically grounded in Scripture, outlines the gospel message, and captures major Biblical themes. Whether a song is old or new has no bearing on whether we sing it, only that is rooted in sound doctrine and enables the Word of Christ to dwell in us richly (Colossians 3:16).

OUR HISTORY
The story of First Baptist church of Monroe is one as old as the book of Acts. It is a story of God’s people being faithful to the Great Commission to make disciples wherever they are and wherever they see a need.
It is a story of churches planting churches to the glory of God and for the good of all people. In January of 1963 two southern Baptist pastors, Wilton Crocker, and Willard Parkman, were sent from their respective churches to plant the First Baptist church of Monroe.
The first meeting was held in a former Skykomish Tree Farm building next to the fairgrounds and witnessed six people in attendance; however, the church quickly grew to seventy-three by the month of April. By September, the church had formally organized as a viable church and associated with the Southern Baptist Convention.
Since its formal beginning in 1963, FBC has been served and led by fourteen different pastors.

In March of 2023, after several interviews and a candidate weekend that included a trial sermon, FBC called Kyle Julius to serve as its fifteenth pastor. In May 2023, after finishing his Master of Divinity at Liberty University, Kyle and his wife, Anna, packed up their belongings and made the trek out west. While FBC has experienced several transitions and changes over the years, the one thing that has remained consistent, and, by God’s grace, will continue to remain, is its commitment to Biblical truth, Christ as the Head of his church and its Chief Shepherd, and the power of God to save sinners in the gospel, regardless of the circumstances. (Romans 1:16-17)
It is our prayer as a church that, should the Lord tarry, the next fifty years consists of greater degrees of faithfulness, fruitful gospel labor, and greater growth both in depth and breadth, to the glory of God alone and the good of all people from every tribe, tongue, and nation. Lord willing, our story is just beginning, and we would love for you to join us in what God has done, is doing, and will do, here in our community, our state, and the world.
“Now to Him who is able to do so much more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21, ESV)
