Good morning and Welcome to Church! This Week is Thanksgiving Week and I hope and pray that you will have a wonderfully blessed time remembering to give thanks for God’s incredible blessings.
I’m not sure what you will be doing on Thursday for Thanksgiving Day, but I would like to challenge you to a little game of Thankfulness. On Thursday morning when you get up, take out a pen and paper (or open your computer!) and on the top of the page write these words: “I’m Thankful for all these things.”
Then, as the day begins, be very aware of every little thing that happens that you are thankful for throughout the day. It’s easy to be thankful for the big things and to just be “thankful” in general for just a good day. But my challenge is to record the little things that happen throughout the day that you are so incredibly thankful for.
Here are a few ideas: 1) a conversation with your spouse, 2) a loving hug or a pat on the shoulder, 3) a word of encouragement or thanks, 4) a playful time with your kids, 5) a funny joke, 6) a prayerful time of remembrance, 7) being able to lick the spoon while the food is being made, 8) the excitement of watching a child lick the spoon like it’s the yummiest food ever made, 9) having food and a spoon that can be licked, 10) and being given another day by our Father to love somebody in this crazy world.
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your day is filled with the Joy and Love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
All for Jesus,
