Good morning and Welcome to Church! As we make our way into this season of Thanksgiving and Christmas, I would like to take a moment to encourage you to remember others during this season.
For many of us, Thanksgiving and Christmas are joyful times filled with family and love and laughter. It is a “magical” time of year for kids and for adults.
However, let me encourage us all to remember that for many other people this time of year can be a time of loneliness or remembrance of better times that are long gone. We just never really know what anyone is going through.
So, let us have “eyes to see and ears to hear,” so that we can watch and listen closely to see if the Lord might be “present-ing” us with a GRACE opportunity to offer love and care and acceptance to someone special this year. Maybe we could invite someone to eat Thanksgiving dinner with us. Maybe we could invite someone to spend the day with us. Maybe we could take someone shopping with us so that we could buy them a special gift. On the other hand, maybe we can just take some extra time to talk and listen to someone and make a new friend.
My biggest encouragement for us this season is that we will just love boldly outside of our normal group that we love so easily. And that will be easy for us because we know that we love because HE first loved us.
Lord, please let us shine that GOSPEL light brightly this year in word and in deed. Let the love of Jesus be lived out in our homes and in our communities and let us watch and listen for those opportunities to share the Love of Jesus in the most special and thoughtful ways.
All for Jesus,
