Good Morning Church Family!

It is VBS week!! Whooo Hooo!! I love VBS! I am pretty sure I have already told this story but I decided to follow Jesus at the age of 10 when I was attending Vacation Bible School at my home church.  I am so thankful for the men and women who took the time to tell me about Jesus. I remember everything about that moment. I remember who I prayed with, exactly the room we were in when we knelt down to pray and how excited I was.  I also remember the day I was baptized and made my profession of faith in Jesus Christ a public statement to my church family. I remember the other two boys I was baptized alongside of and what order we were baptized. I know all of that might sound silly in some way but that is how significant those memories are to me and how impactful they were beyond the obvious fact I now have eternal life.

It will be a busy week here filled with laughs, songs, yummy food, fun and loving Jesus.  I would like to ask each of you to please pray for VBS.  Pray for those in attendance that their hearts would be ready to receive the love of Jesus.  Pray for those serving that our hearts would be ready to share about how awesome Jesus is and  I also ask that you pray for safety.  We currently have 226 kids preregistered and 70 volunteers so the campus will be full of activity and I want everyone to leave each day without injury.

Thank you so much for the blessing of allowing me to direct VBS.  It is a lot of work but I sure do love it.  I would like to invite you to stop by one morning at 9:30am and experience our opening rally and see all the excitement.  We also have a closing rally each day at 12:00pm you can come watch as well as a family night on Friday at 6:00pm.

As one of the VBS songs this week says:

We are like stars, shining all the through the night

Shimming in the sky

Showing the world

That we love Jesus

I pray that is what each of us strive to be every day.
